PD Ports, Teesport has seen major growth in its roll-on roll-off business in recent times. Volumes have increased by over 50% in the last 5 years with the Port and service operators investing heavily.

P&O Ferries have been operating at Tees Dock for over 15 years and have established 6 sailings a week to Rotterdam and 6 sailings a week to Zeebrugge as major routes to mainland Europe for shippers from the North of England and Scotland.

Over the years P&O Ferries have deployed larger and newer vessels on these routes, an investment matched by the Port in additional berths, gatehouse facilities and IT.

P&O Ferries now carry large volumes of short-sea container business and trade cars, as well as the trailer traffic, which has made this service so popular.

Cars

Renault cars have been the main beneficiary of the additional facility at Riverside RoRo, where in conjunction with carrier UECC over 100,000 trade cars are imported through the 23 hectare storage facility each year.

This volume has secured a long term deal between PD Ports, Teesport and Renault on an import processing and preparation centre for PDI and vehicle enhancement work.

General Motors lease a further 5 hectares of storage for vehicles that are imported from their European distribution centre in Zeebrugge.

Common user storage at PD Ports, Teesport has been utilised by a variety of manufacturers in recent times.

The availability of over 40 hectares of development land makes Tees Dock an ideal location for any importer or manufacturer seeking easy access to Northern UK markets.
